The dispatchers of Infrabel’s new signaling center in Liege are now fully equipped with the RideOnTrack operational telecom systems.
The new facilities are fully equipped with the RideOnTrack operational telephony components. This includes:
- A Geo-redundant dispatcher system with 20 new SIP/IP dispatcher terminals,
- Several gateway’s to connect to the legacy network (e.g. the Siemens signaling system),
- An extension of the voice recording functionalities.
During the night of Saturday July 1 and Sunday July 2, Infrabel disconnected the old dispatching infrastructure and connected the RideOnTrack solution with the live-network. By Sunday noon the switch-over was completed and the new system went in full operation.
The Liege signaling center is a very important railway hub in Belgium and the successful switch-over to the RideOnTrack products was very important to demonstrate both the product performance and the capabilities of RideOnTrack to successfully implement such a complex project. The switch-over required several weeks of preparation and very intense co-operation between Infrabel and RideOnTrack. Liege is also the first site were the French version of the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the dispatcher terminal went in operation.
Preparations have now started for the next 2 site renewals, Hasselt and Leuven. These sites should go live before the end of Q3.
