Discussing the future of critical communications with Belgian Minister of Defence Theo Francken
This morning at BeGeo2026, RideOnTrack had the opportunity to speak with Belgian Minister of Defence and Foreign Trade Theo Francken about the growing strategic importance of Mission-Critical Communications.
Our discussion focused on the upcoming transition towards MCX technologies, the importance of these systems for government services and national security, and the need to ensure that the relevant expertise and technology continue to be developed in Belgium.
For governments, the strategic importance of mission-critical communications goes far beyond technology alone. It is also about cybersecurity, resilience, strategic autonomy, and the ability to build and retain local expertise in critical telecom technologies.
As a provider of mission-critical solutions, RideOnTrack believes it is important to contribute to that broader ecosystem and to support the development of the capabilities Belgium and Europe will need in the years ahead.
Many thanks to Agoria for facilitating this networking opportunity, and to the organisers of BeGeo for bringing together public institutions, industry, research, and innovation around technologies that strengthen resilience.
