Paving the Way for the Future of Railway Communications! 📡

We are thrilled to announce that RideOnTrack is actively contributing to the FP2-MORANE-2 project, a critical initiative shaping the future of railway communications through Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) technology.

Why does this matter?

Railways worldwide are preparing for the transition from GSM-R to FRMCS. GSM-R has served the industry well for many years but is now reaching its limits. FRMCS, the 5G-based telecommunications standard, is designed specifically for rail operations and will drive the next generation of railway communications. FRMCS will bring higher reliability, enhanced security, and greater flexibility, supporting both traditional railway voice communications and advanced data-driven applications such as real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance.

Our Contribution

At RideOnTrack, we are proud to provide the FRMCS dispatching solution for the lab environment of Ericsson.Ericsson, KPN, railway operators have the tools they need to communicate effectively in this next-generation environment. This project is a key milestone in the European railway sector’s broader digital transformation, aligning with the vision set by UIC and in close collaboration with UNIFE for a future-proof railway network.

Looking Ahead

Together with other industry leaders such as Nokia, Kontron, Ericsson, Funkwerk, and Frequentis, RideOnTrack is driving dispatching innovation in FRMCS. As the leader for the dispatching work item, we are at the forefront of shaping a new era for railway telecommunications!
