RideOnTrack wins VLAIO grant to advance MCX technology
We’re proud to share that RideOnTrack has been awarded a VLAIO – Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship development project grant for our innovation project (HBC.2025.1055).
This support enables us to further expand the development of our MCX mission-critical communication technology, used in environments where reliability, security and continuity are essential.
The core focus of the project is MCX: mission-critical communication capabilities that are relevant across multiple mission-critical users and ecosystems. With VLAIO’s support, we will advance key building blocks of our technology stack.
This work is highly relevant as mission-critical organisations evolve from legacy 2G/GSM-R/TETRA networks towards next-generation broadband (5G) mission-critical communications, for public safety, defense and other critical services.
Within the project, we also cover FRMCS — a railway-specific layer that builds on MCX capabilities and supports the rail sector’s evolution beyond GSM-R.
We strongly value the strategic importance of developing this kind of mission-critical technology locally. Building this capability in Belgium strengthens local expertise and long-term know-how in a domain where trust is non-negotiable.
A sincere thank you to VLAIO – Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship for the trust and support in our R&D roadmap — and to Leyton for their support in shaping the proposal.
