BIPT selects RideOnTrack’s CodiTrack for railway coverage verification

We’re proud to announce that BIPT – the Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications, has implemented our CodiTrack solution to support their regulatory mission.

As the national telecommunications regulator, BIPT is responsible for verifying that mobile network operators meet their coverage obligations on Belgian railway lines. To fulfil this role, BIPT uses RideOnTrack’s CodiTrack solution.

CodiTrack’s on-board IoT Edge measurement equipment, the rEdge platform, is installed directly on passenger trains and captures key network performance indicators including QoS metrics, throughput and latency. Complementary to this, the rMobile measurement devices are deployed inside the trains to validate the actual user experience from a passenger perspective, capturing real-world connectivity quality as experienced on board.

Measurement campaigns are conducted twice a year, providing BIPT with recurring data collection across the Belgian railway network. The collected data is processed and visualised in the CodiTrack web application, which provides interactive dashboards and track-based heatmaps, enabling identification of underperforming segments.

We look forward to continuing this collaboration and contributing to a well-regulated and high-quality digital infrastructure throughout Belgium.
